Charles Leclerc dominated proceeding to take victory at the
United States Grand Prix. The
Ferrari showed some super pace around the Circuit of The Americas, with
Carlos Sainz taking P2, and
Max Verstappen took P3 after
Lando Norris' five-second penalty.
After starting off the front row, the Prancing Horse showed brilliant race pace, as Leclerc took the lead at the first corner of the Grand Prix after starting in P4, and he did not give up the lead at any stage. Sainz tried to chase down his teammate, but a solid second place was what the Spaniard finished with.
Verstappen moved up to P3 despite crossing the line in P4, as Norris was judged to have gained an advantage off the track after overtaking the Dutchman in a huge on-track battle. That five-second penalty moved the Brit from P3 to P4, with
Oscar Piastri coming behind in P5.
Behind the top five,
George Russell drove a stellar race from the pitlane to take P6 ahead of
Sergio Perez in P7.
Nico Hulkenberg,
Liam Lawson and Franco Colapint rounded out the top ten, a great result for Lawson on his official
F1 debut for VCARB.
