It was not a dull day at
Silverstone. The
British Grand Prix was packed with excitement, with the battle for victory in the final laps between
Charles Leclerc and
Lewis Hamilton. Leclerc was unable to hold on and had to let Hamilton pass with three laps to go.
Verstappen eliminated by Hamilton
For
Max Verstappen, the race was short-lived. In the opening lap, he was knocked off track by Hamilton with a hard crash as a result. As a result, Leclerc took the lead and stayed there for a long time. With three laps to go Hamilton managed to overtake the
Ferrari driver.
Hamilton got a ten second time penalty, but that couldn't stop him from winning. It helped the
Mercedes driver that his teammate
Valtteri Bottas was ordered by the team to let Hamilton pass. The Finn eventually finished third.
