Twelve months ago, Pierre Gasly featured in his first ever F1 race. To use the cliche and say it's been a rollercoaster ride for the young Frenchman would be wrong. It hasn't been. The entire year has been full of positives.
The soon to be Red Bull driver tweeted about the anniversary this afternoon and called the year "the greatest of my life." You could say, it's been a dream come true.

Malaysian Grand Prix 2017

The final race in Malaysia marked the start of a promising career for Gasly. The Toro Rosso driver teamed up with Carlos Sainz who he almost out-qualified. In the race, Sainz broke down with an engine issue, but Gasly completed the 55 laps. He came 14th.

4th place in Bahrain

Nobody really expected the Toro Rosso, with a relatively fresh Honda engine, to finish 4th. The team celebrated as if they won the title, and for them, that's what it was! The 12 points picked up by Gasly on that day make for almost half of their total 2018 tally.

Signing for Red Bull

It was earlier than expected, but with Daniel Ricciardo's shock announcement, there wasn't anything else Red Bull could have done. Next season he will join garages with Max Verstappen to form one of the youngest partnerships in F1. But that doesn't mean it lacks experience.
