Toro Rosso's Pierre Gasly has said that qualifying will be of the utmost importance in Barcelona this weekend, as the Frenchman explains that overtaking is extremely difficult on the Circuit de Catalunya.
Gasly knows the circuit like the back of his hand, he said, because you drive there in every single racing category.
"I've done like a thousand laps on this track because you drive here in every racing class," Gasly said on Toro Rosso's official page.
"Besides the many laps, I do have good memories here.
"I won in the Renault 2.0 here and I drove my first test for Toro Rosso here in 2015.
"Our winter test went very well here, so I can't wait to get started."
Gasly will look to bounce back from Baku, as the Frenchman still hasn't shown the same form he had in Bahrain, when he beat all the odds by finishing in fourth place.
"If your car does well here, it'll do well everywhere.
"It's a cliché, but it's true.
"It's tough to overtake here, so qualifying will be extremely important.
"I hope that we can play this well with the traffic here and make sure we start as far forward on the grid as possible."
