George Russell finally got his first points for Williams at the Hungarian Grand Prix. The driver finished in eighth place and gathered four points. It didn't only make Russell happy but also his team.

Team boss Jost Capito is only excited about Russell's season. The Williams driver has been close to the points a number of times this season but was unlucky to come up empty-handed each time for a variety of reasons. "If he gets a knock he comes back better. He grows under pressure. The bigger the pressure is, the better he becomes. Many crack under pressure, but George is completely different. The more pressure the better he will perform," Capito explained to the official website of Formula 1.

Last season Russell could already be admired in a Mercedes car. At the time, the talent made an excellent impression and showed that he has the potential to run with the top teams. "We saw that when he was in the Mercedes last year. It was the biggest pressure you could put on any driver and he performed brilliantly – and this is his attitude," said the team boss.

Russell versus Bottas

For next season, Russell seems to be the successor of Valtteri Bottas. Mercedes hopes that he will be a better competitor for Lewis Hamilton.
