Lewis Hamilton eventually stole pole position in the absolutely mental qualifying round at Spa Francorchamps, and the Brit admitted that it was one of the hardest drives of his F1-career.
After rain started falling, it was anyone's pole for the taking. Ferrari looked to have gotten it done with a one-two, but Hamilton put in an already legendary lap to secure his 78th pole position in his career.
"That was one of the hardest qualifying sessions l can remember," he said after it was all said and done.
"None of us have been driving in the rain this weekend so l cannot even express to you how difficult that was."
He went into the grass just a lap before getting pole, which made people think Mercedes were going to have to do with second best. But not Hamilton, he doesn't do second best. Incredible stuff from him. We can't wait until tomorrow!
