2018 world champion Lewis Hamilton has hinted at a possible move to Ferrari at some point in his career. The Briton has driven for just two teams in F1, McLaren and his current team Mercedes but didn't deny that a stint in red wasn't out of the realms of possibility.
Having won four of his five world championships with the Silver Arrows, Hamilton admitted that a move away from the team would be difficult and that he has a huge amount of loyalty to the three-pointed star.
“At the moment, it’s very very difficult to imagine, envisage myself anywhere else,” said Hamilton.
“This is my family, this is where I grew up but I said the same thing when I was at McLaren.
“I think one of the reasons I wanted to move was to go somewhere else and see if you could do something special somewhere else.
“I knew I could but I needed to prove it to everyone else. Right now, I don’t feel like I need to go and be in another team to win a title in another team but you can never say never.”
2018 title rival Sebastian Vettel had a deal with Mercedes back in 2017 to make the switch from Ferrari to Mercedes this season however he tore up his pre-contract agreement with the team after Ferrari began showing signs of real progress last season.
A straight swap in the future could be on the cards perhaps?
