During the first Grands Prix of 2020 there Honda were still managing some reliability issues. Especially in the Alpha Tauri cars, several parts were replaced. While engine power will be important in the upcoming Spa-Francorchamps and Monza races, Honda is not worried about its previous reliability issues.

Honda finishes the existing plan

"We're not worried about the reliability of the engine," said Toyoharu Tanabe at the press conference for the Belgian Grand Prix. He stresses that the parts that have been replaced before can still be reused.
"We're finishing the existing plan with our bikes," he continued. "We have used more parts than other engine manufacturers. The plan is not to incur penalties for new engine parts and we are on schedule for the time being."
