Christian Horner does not simply assume that
Max Verstappen can already chalk up a victory. The Dutchman is considered the big favourite for the
Canadian Grand Prix, but Horner also expects a lot from the competition.
'
'I'm sure Mercedes and Fernando will push very hard,' ' Horner made it immediately clear to Sky Sports that he does not expect an easy race at the
Circuit Gilles Villeneuve.
''He (Fernando) will definitely go for it and so will the top three, so it could be a very interesting first round.''Pressure on Perez
Speaking to Viaplay, Horner also explained that the conditions are different from qualifying. It is no longer raining and so the demands on the RB19 are very different. ''We have a plan, but at the end of the day, we will see if that was a good plan. It's a tough race, tough on the cars too with the rising temperatures.''
Over at British Sky, Horner was still asked about his take on
Sergio Perez's situation. On that, the
Red Bull Racing team boss is very clear:
''He needs a good result and to find that confidence again. Yesterday, he lacked that confidence in those conditions. The lap where it had to happen on dry weather tyres, that's where he didn't succeed'', the Brit concludes.
