Red Bull Racing team principal
Christian Horner has been very positive about the
Honda power unit yet again, with the Brit saying the Japanese engine is
"like a Swiss watch" in the back of the RB15.
After 12 years of marriage to Renault, Red Bull finally switched away from the French as they weren't competing with Ferrari and Mercedes enough, both in terms of performance and reliability. The switch to Honda was definitely a risky one, given Honda's track record in recent years, but Horner backs them to deliver a competitive package.
"When you look at how neatly the engine integrated into the chassis, you have to give it to the engineering team at Honda and say they've done a great job," Horner told Motorsport-Total.
It looks like there's a Swiss watch in the back of our chassis!"
Power should be no issue for Honda, as reports came out at the end of last season saying Honda had already surpassed Renault on that front. However, reliability is the big question mark.
"At the end of the day, performance is the dominating factor, but I have to admit the integration of the engine has never been this smooth."
