Red Bull team principal
Christian Horner believes that Red Bull holds all the cards when it comes to a decision over which engine manufacturer they might choose to move forward with for 2019.
A very long and very public falling out with
Renault led to the team using sponsor Tag-Heuer as a badge for their Renault engines and with the recent move of
Honda linking up with Toro Rosso for this season, Red Bull have been watching closely.
"Luckily we have options," he told Auto Motor und Sport. "Renault wishes to continue working with us, and we have a front row seat with regards to Honda. We can observe how they develop,"
Horner didn't comment on which way the team were leaning when it came to such a decision but said that Helmut Marko, head of the Red Bull young driver programme, was playing an interesting role in relation to Honda.
"Helmut has always been talented, he's our Japanese mascot at the moment."
