Charles Leclerc has beaten his teammate Marcus Ericsson for the first time this season in qualifying, as the Monegasque rookie will start in P19.
"This is the first time this year that I'm happy about my own qualifying performance," he told Dutch tv channel Ziggo Sport.
"Besides that one spin, I'm happy with the qualifying lap I put in.
He 'only' came in second to last in P19, but he was half a second quicker than his teammate Marcus Ericsson.
In Bahrain, Leclerc didn't listen to the team and decided to switch to mediums early on, which cost him in the end as the wear on the tyre was too much.
"I'll start listening more to the team," he promised.
"If they tell me my idea is wrong, I'll listen to what they say and I won't do what I think is right like I did in Bahrain.
"I made a big mistake there and I learned from it, it won't happen again."
