There is a good chance that
Alexander Albon will be driving a
Williams car next season too. Team boss Jost Capito says in conversation with
Sky Sports that he is very satisfied with the driver. He hints at an option in his contract for a longer collaboration.
Williams brought in Albon this year as a replacement for
George Russell, who went to Mercedes for his chance. It was certainly not the Thai's first adventure in
Formula 1. While he had previously shown positive results at Toro Rosso, he disappointed at
Red Bull Racing.
In 2022, the British team gave him a chance to continue his
Formula 1 career. Alexander Albon is doing so convincingly for the time being. His teammate
Nicholas Latifi is still empty-handed this season, while he has already scored three points for Williams.
Capito wants to keep Albon for Williams
The team is determined to continue its current momentum and is desperate to keep Albon. "He is happy here," Capito stressed in conversation with the English medium. "Even if he had the chance to change teams, he wouldn't want to." In Hungary, Albon will start from seventeenth place.
