The American team have made a decent start in 2018. After a painful double retirement in Australia, Kevin Magnussen has continued to perform and has 11 points in the drivers championship.
Kevin Magnussen has expressed his desire to stay with Haas for the foreseeable future. The Dane currently has all 11 points for the team after Romain Grosjean has been unable to match his less experienced teammate since the opening round of the championship.
Speaking to BT newspaper, he believes he is under less pressure and carrying confidence, helping his performances over his teammate.
"I think I've always had confidence. The difference is that I've always been much more pressured.
"I was super-pressured at McLaren and it was the same at Renault because the car was so bad. Now I'm in a very good place in my career with a team that supports me 100%.
"It's actually the first time in my entire career, even outside of F1, that I've been at the same team for two consecutive years. And it's only now that it really occurs to me how important that is."
Being happy with the team doesn't necessarily mean they will extend his contract however Magnussen does hope an agreement can be reached.
"There is not much to say about my contract. They have an option on me, and I hope they use it."
