Yuki Tsunoda hopes to do better on Saturday afternoon than he did during the first day of the race weekend. In the second free practice session at Monaco he drove hard into the wall, which reduced his mileage. Helmut Marko was not satisfied with his performance afterwards.
At the start of the season Red Bull Racing's advisor was impressed with the young Japanese driver's performance. While Tsunoda finished ninth in Bahrain, his twelfth place in Imola was just not good enough to earn any points. The two races after that were also pointless for Tsunoda.
In Monaco, his performance has been disappointing so far. "I've explained to Yuki so clearly that it's really important to do a lot of kilometres here," Marko told AS-Web. "That is of vital importance here. So it's not the intention to take too much risk, causing you to miss practice time. It's all about track time and generating confidence here. Unfortunately a big part of the suspension broke down."

Battle for pole position

Meanwhile, Marko's eyes will be on the front of the grid. Max Verstappen and Red Bull seem to have a good chance to win pole position, but the Ferrari's also made a good impression on Thursday. Mercedes is also doing well in Monaco so far.
