Verstappen knows situation De Vries: 'But I don't have to tell him that'

If anyone can judge what kind of situation Nyck de Vries is currently in in Formula 1, it is Max Verstappen. With Verstappen, the F1 debut was much smoother, but the environment and people are the same. Verstappen comes with advice for his compatriot in F1.

The environment was the same, but the position De Vries is in now is not something Verstappen experienced. De Vries is under pressure and his seat is already being looked away by other up-and-coming Red Bull talent. Christian Horner and Helmut Marko who can be so lyrical about Verstappen have serious doubts about the other Dutchman.

Verstappen said at the FIA press conference: "Well, I think we all know that this is motorsport in general, right? You need to perform to the best you can. It's not forever anyway. [...] It doesn't matter what people above you say. It's about how you learn from your weaknesses, learn from your mistakes, like we all do. Just get on top of the car a little bit more, feel a bit more comfortable. And definitely don't force it."

Verstappen mainly advises De Vries to seek cooperation with his team and hope for a good result. From that one good weekend, the ball can start rolling. Verstappen: "It's a lot of things that have to come together at the end of the day. So yeah, I mean, don't get too stressed about it. But just work hard together with all your people involved who can actually make a difference and influence your performance. But I mean, I don't even need to tell Nick. He knows that. He has a lot of experience."
