British media personality Jeremy Clarkson criticizes Lewis Hamilton for making too much of a media moment out of his entrance at Ferrari. According to the farmer, the former world champion would have been better off starting his duties in silence, if he wanted to achieve success with the Italian team.
Jeremy Clarkson took aim at Hamilton in his column in The Sun not for the first time. The Brit wrote: "If he really wants that eighth world title, you'd think he'd have arrived at the factory on day one, full of enthusiasm to learn the secrets of the car and how to maximize his vast arsenal of racing talents."
"Instead, he showed up in an SUV in a suit and tie and posed for photos before talking with fans, under the watchful eye of a video drone that was fortunately present to capture the moment."
Clarkson also criticized Ferrari's employees, whom he called ‘engineers crawling up [Hamilton's] ass’. "I heard his new house is not near the team's headquarters. It's in Milan, and he doesn't even commute in a Ferrari road car, but chooses to use Fiat's helicopter. I wondered. What is Lewis now? A racer? Or a superstar?"
Clarkson has regularly caused controversy in the past. He insulted the LGBTQ community and had to apologize for using the n-word. After the umpteenth controversy, Clarkson was fired by the BBC in 2015, for which he made the program Top Gear. Since then, the Brit has had little success. In addition to a column in the largest tabloid of Great Britain, he is primarily a farmer.
