William's driver
Lance Stroll believes the lack of experience won't hinder his teams chances this season.
Stroll, who made his F1 debut in 2017 will be joined by rookie
Sergey Sirotkin for the new season, and the pairing will be the second-least experienced pairing on the grid this season. Only the Red Bull Toro Rosso pairing of Brendon Hartley and Pierre Gasly have less experience with just nine grand prix's between them.
Despite the retirement of Felipe Massa, who partnered Stroll last season as William's came 5th in the Constructors Championship, the Canadian is hopeful ahead of his second F1 season, saying:
“My job remains the same, regardless of who is on the other side of the garage,”
I have a year under my belt compared to Sergey, but at the same time, we’re all in it together. There is not a lead driver and a second driver, it is one team and we want to get the most out of the package available.
That’s the objective for this year, just like it was for last year.”
Stroll added that experience in the team comes in other forms, such as reserve driver Robert Kubica who will offer vast amount of experience to the young drivers, Stroll said:
“Of course, we don’t have the most experienced line-up, but there are some good people around us.
“There is a lot of experience around the engineering table in order to help us, so I believe we have a good team in place going into the season.”
