Former Red Bull driver, Mark Webber has speculated over the future of his compatriot -
Daniel Ricciardo.
With Ricciardo's contract at Red Bull expiring at the end of the season, Ricciardo has been linked by many F1 fans and pundits to both Ferrari and Mercedes. Valteri Bottas's contract is also up at the end of the season, potentially leaving a free seat in the Mercedes garage.
But Mark Webber believes Ricciardo wants to be a Number 1 driver, saying:
"He is safe in F1,”
It's just a question if he is wants the absolute perfect team in 2019 and trying to get the No 1 status somewhere in those teams.
That's what he would love to achieve."
Red Bull have indicated that they want the Australian to extend his contract after this season, but a proposed engine change may scupper these chances.
