Esteban Ocon is set to race for
Renault in 2020 but the Frenchman is unsure whether he will be able to drive for his new team at the post-season test in Abu Dhabi.
Earlier this year it was announced that Ocon would join Renault for the 2020 season, replacing
Nico Hulkenberg, the German's future still very much up in the air. Ocon will team up with
Daniel Ricciardo next year, giving Renault a similar situation to last year when the Australian signed from
Red Bull.
Ocon is still part of the
Mercedes setup after leaving
Racing Point at the end of last season but is gradually being phased out ahead of his move. Although he is yet to feature for the Silver Arrows this season he is unsure whether he will be allowed to take part in the post-season test at the Yas Marina Circuit.
"I don't know, but hopefully as soon as possible," Ocon told Sky Sports.
"I hope I can do the test in Abu Dhabi, but the two teams will have to decide if that is possible. But of course, that is what I would like."
