Sergio Perez will race his 250th Grand Prix in Singapore. The teammate of
Max Verstappen has been active in
Formula 1 since 2011 and could reach this milestone in just over a week. On his X-page, the Mexican reveals that he never expected to drive so many races.
Perez has had an exciting career. In 2011, he made his
Formula 1 debut for the Sauber team. After that, the Mexican has driven at
McLaren, Force India/Racing Point, and is currently Verstappen's teammate at
Red Bull Racing. In 2020, the Mexican took his first victory. After his move to Red Bull, he won five more Grands Prix so far.
The number two in the championship is introducing a special helmet for his anniversary weekend. The Mexican says: "Reaching 250 GPs in Singapore … not even in my wildest dreams did I imagine we’d be here! Celebrating with a special helmet for my country because I know this means a lot to us."
