Ralf Schumacher is tough on
Charles Leclerc and
Ferrari. The Monegasque made a mistake in the
French Grand Prix that forced him to end his race early. Schumacher says that this kind of mistake should not happen to drivers who are competing for a world title, but admits that the Italian team makes its own mistakes.
Leclerc makes big mistake
Full of disbelief, Schumacher watched the footage of Leclerc parking his
Ferrari in the tyre barrier.
"At first I thought it was a technical problem, also because Charles said that he couldn't find the accelerator," the brother of
Michael Schumacher writes in his
column for the German branch of Sky Sports.
Leclerc admitted shortly after the crash that he was the one who made the mistake. The Monegasque approached the corner too quickly and was unable to pass it as a result. "Of course, something like that can't happen if you want to race for the world title," Schumacher said of Leclerc's mistake.
Intense pressure at Ferrari
According to Schumacher, Leclerc did not make the mistake without reason. The German thinks that the internal pressure at Ferrari is very intense. Schumacher says that Leclerc is certainly not the only one making mistakes at Ferrari. The team is said to make strategic mistakes time and time again and also in France they made a mistake.
Carlos Sainz was brought in on an unfortunate occasion on his second pit stop.
"Good teamwork looks different," Schumacher judged.
