Conditions at Circuit Gilles Villeneuve on Sunday are completely different from a day earlier. After a rainy qualifying session, a dry Formula 1 race is expected, with Max Verstappen as the absolute favourite in it, whereas teammate Sergio Perez faces a bigger challenge.

Verstappen and Perez assess chances

"We will have to wait and see," Verstappen said on Formula1.com's YouTube channel about his chances on a dry track. "It's a bit different here today, there is a lot less rubber on the track than normal on a Sunday, but I'm looking forward to it. It's gonna stay dry and hopefully, we can have a really good race."
Asked if he is holding back somewhat given the RB19's dominant form, the Dutchman replied in the negative. "There's no holding back. There are always things that can be done better, but so far of course we are enjoying what we're doing with the car. It's always in a decent window."
Perez was left behind in Q2 and will have to come back as far as possible from 12th on the grid. "We will give it our all. It's hard when you are so far behind, within a couple of laps you are very far behind. But I have a good feeling for today," concluded the number two in the championship.
