After the first free practice, Liam Lawson was summoned to the stewards to explain why he did not comply with the race director's 'Event Notes'. Lawson failed to follow the race director's instructions twice, and he received an official reprimand.
The FIA document stated, “The stewards heard from the driver of car 30 (Liam Lawson), team representative, and reviewed data from the positioning and marshalling system, video footage, team radio, and in-car cameras. They concluded that car 30 had entered the painted area between the pit entry and the circuit.

No penalty for Lawson in Saudi Arabia

A penalty for the Lawson was deemed too strict by the Stewards on the first infringement document. The first document stated, "There is no doubt that this prohibition was breached. As this was during Free Practice, we did not think a more severe penalty than a warning was necessary."
The second document said, "There is no doubt that this prohibition was breached for a second time."
Lawson did not receive a penalty, as ultimately, the Stewards felt as if the issues fell on the team.
"We checked the team radio, and it appears that despite the notification that the alleged breach was noted by Race Control at 16:48:30, the driver was not warned of this. There were at least 3 laps in between the first infringement and the second where the team could have reminded the driver of the prohibition in the Race Director’s event notes, and it appears that they did not do so. Therefore, the stewards decided to issue an official reprimand to Lawson."
