Robert Kubica is set to complete a move to
Alfa Romeo to be their development driver for the 2020 season. The 35-year-old has spoken to other teams about a similar type of roles but looks to have reached an agreement with the team who finished 8th in 2019.
The role which the Polish driver would undertake would involve helping to develop a new simulator, something which would suit him well having used
Mercedes’ F1 simulator before he came back to drive for
Renault and
Williams.
The experienced driver lost his seat at Williams to Canadian Nicholas Latifi who will partner
George Russell for the 2020 season.
Kubica is also looking at the possibility of a race drive in DTM next year after he tested for BMW in November.
