F1 world champion
Nico Rosberg has shown his sympathies for Force India driver
Esteban Ocon, as the fact that the Frenchman won't have a seat in the F1 next season is
"terrible" according to the German.
Although it still hasn't been confirmed officially, Ocon is almost certainly going to be replaced by
Lance Stroll at Force India, with the Canadian's father buying a big stake in Force India to help them out of administration.
Ocon doesn't nearly have the financial backing that Stroll has and will have to find a seat somewhere else. However, as the 22-year-old is a Mercedes youth driver, most other don't want to offer him a seat, leaving the Frenchman without options in F1, unless Williams offer him a seat.
"A lot of great drivers have gotten support as F1 teams are now involved in a way that didn't happen before, that's a good thing" Rosberg stated to the Dutch branch of Motorsport.com.
"Formula One teams now take initiative themselves and support young drivers, which isn't disastrous in itself."
The situation in which Ocon now finds himself, though, can't happen in Rosberg's eyes, as the Frenchman is unquestionably one of the brightest young talents on the F1 grid.
"A situation like Ocon's can't happen, it's terrible.
"He's sensational en drives so well, but now he's left without a seat for next year - that's really sad and has to be evaded."
