According to Nico Rosberg, Ferrari has taken a big gamble. The Italians will drive with more downforce for the French Grand Prix, but the former Formula One driver doubts whether the team has made the right choice.

It is extremely hot at the Paul Ricard circuit. The asphalt temperature is currently 57 degrees Celsius. The tyres are going to have a hard time during the race, so the question is which team has chosen the right set-up to manage the tyres.

For Rosberg, the Red Bull Racing team is the big favourite. The German thinks Max Verstappen will have a great race. "It will be a very tough race for Ferrari", he tells Sky Germany. Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz will drive with more downforce to give them an advantage in the corners, but this set-up could also lead to faster tyre degradation.

Rosberg doubts Ferrari's choice

"I don't know if they have grip on that. Red Bull is so much faster on the straights", Rosberg says. The singular world champion therefore does not put his money on Leclerc in France, but on Verstappen. The Dutchman's team has opted for a low downforce set-up.
