Carlos Sainz pulled off a late move to claim the best of the rest drivers title at the season-ending
Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, but fans were left disappointed when it wasn't shown on TV.
Sainz needed to finish ahead of
Pierre Gasly to finish sixth in the Drivers' Championship, but as the drivers entered the final laps Sainz was just outside the points in eleventh place. However, he made a late move on
Nico Hulkenberg to score one point, enough for him to finish sixth, with Gasly well down in 18th.
Despite the dramatic conclusion to the midfield battle, many fans missed it as the TV pictures showed
Hamilton's final lap and
Bottas chasing down
Charles Leclerc. Sainz has admitted his frustration at this but refused to go into too much detail.
“I’m not going to talk too much about it,” the Spaniard told Formule1.
“But I think everyone was talking about the fight for sixth place in the championship last weekend.
“Then there was finally a fight in the last laps and even the last corners, but even then they didn’t show it. So I think it’s strange that everyone was so enthusiastic about the fight, but nothing was actually seen on the TV."
