Max Verstappen had a challenging weekend in Monaco. Despite finishing fourth in qualifying, he finished Sunday afternoon in third place. The Dutchman told Red Bull Racing's press release that, considering the circumstances, he is satisfied with the result.

Whereas Charles Leclerc and Verstappen are used to fighting for victory together this season, in Monaco the roles were reversed for once. Sergio Perez managed to take the win after a tough battle, while Carlos Sainz finished in second place ahead of Verstappen.

"First of all congratulations to Checo," Verstappen began. "He did an incredible job today. As a Team we did a really great job, we managed a good strategy. Of course finishing third for me is not ideal but I wasn’t able to improve my lap time yesterday so that’s just how it goes."

Verstappen gives Red Bull big compliment

In doing so, Verstappen was proud of Red Bull. "In the heat of the battle and with the hectic start, we stayed calm as a Team, we made good decisions. The strategy paid off with Checo winning so that was the biggest positive of the day. I’m really proud of the Team effort this weekend and to get two cars onto the podium."
