Sauber Motorsport have added 18-year-old Arthur Leclerc, the younger brother of new
Ferrari driver
Charles Leclerc, to its Junior Team development programme.
Leclerc's credentials in motorsport include a successful debut season in the French Formula 4 championship - recording two wins and eight podiums on the way to a fifth-place finish in the competition.
The 18-year-old will remain at F4 level, but will also drive in the competitive ADAC German F4 series and also a selection of Italian F4 events, driving for US Racing-CHRS.
"I'm super excited to be part of the Sauber Junior Team," Arthur said. "It's a serious programme that is affiliated with an F1 team. This is an opportunity that means a lot to me.
"My target is to win and move onto the next racing category. It's been great to work with the guys at US Racing and Charouz. It's a proper team and I already feel really confident with them and the car."
Will we see Leclerc v2 drive for Ferrari in a few years time? Time will tell...
