As if his afternoon wasn't bad enough,
Williams rookie
Sergey Sirotkin has been hit with a grid penalty after hitting Sergio Perez's car at the start of the
Azerbaijan Grand Prix.
Certainly an afternoon to forget for Sirotkin. He did very well to start in P11, but things soon went downhill for the Russian as soon as the lights went out...
As you can see in the video above, Sirotkin is simply too late with his braking when approaching the second turn, which caused him to hit Sergio Perez in the back. It created a bit of a domino-effect as the collision caused the Mexican to hit his teammate Esteban Ocon.
Immediately after, the Russian was involved in another collision in which he punctured his tyre. He eventually had to retire from the race.
The FIA has decided to give Sirotkin a three-place grid-penalty, as well as two points penalty on his racing licence.
Is that enough of a punishment? Or is it too harsh?
