On the back of a podium in 2017, Lance Stroll managed a P8-finish in Baku in 2018, a result the Canadian is happy with even though he knows he could've ended higher.
Stroll seems to like it in Azerbaijan. A podium in a mid-field car at best in 2017, and a P8-finish in a very bad car in 2018, those are good results for the youngster. Still, he knows he could've done better on Sunday.
"It was a crazy race where so many things happened," he told the official F1-channel.
"I'm happy with P8, but I think I could've gotten P6.
"I struggled with the car which made me lose a place.
Fernando Alonso then got the better of him as the Spaniard threw his McLaren down the inside of the Canadian.
"In the duel with Alonso I got surprised," he admitted.
"I never would've thought he'd go down the inside, which made it too easy for him to get in there."
Looking ahead, Stroll is far from confident with the team's chances in Barcelona in two weeks time.
"It won't be easy to re-create this in Barcelona," he analyzed.
"We'll have to keep working to erase the deficit we have."
