Even though his weekend in Baku ended in tears, Max Verstappen is excited about the Spanish Grand Prix in two weeks time as Red Bull will introduce a big upgrade on the RB14.
It's not been the year of Max Verstappen so far, as the Dutchman has been criticized for his driving like never before. He's been a part of several accidents, the latest of which in Baku last weekend when his teammate Daniel Ricciardo drove into him.
When talking to Dutch tv-show Peptalk, Verstappen lifted the curtain on the upgrades Red Bull and Renault will be introducing in Barcelona in two weekends time.
"Next race everything can flip," he told his fellow countrymen.
"We'll take a lot of upgrades with us that will bring us forward a lot."
When asked what those upgrades are exactly, the 20-year-old had to be careful with his words.
"At the moment the data looks very positive, but we'll have to wait and see whether that holds up on the track," he said.
"But we'll be making quite some changes."
Red Bull has already shown it's capable of winning racing with the current car, as Ricciardo took the Chinese Grand Prix in emphatic fashion. Whether these upgrades will mean that they'll win more, we'll just have to wait and see.
