Big fun between
Red Bull Racing drivers at the
F1 Tokyo Festival. The event was all about the
Japanese Grand Prix to be held next weekend and welcomed some big names from
Formula 1. Among them were Stefano Domenicali and
Ferrari team boss
Frederic Vasseur, but the four drivers from the Red Bull stable also appeared on the podium.
Yuki Tsunoda gave Japanese lessons.
Verstappen gets Japanese lesson from Tsunoda
Max Verstappen,
Sergio Perez,
Liam Lawson and local hero
Yuki Tsunoda appeared on stage in front of thousands of enthusiastic fans in Japan's capital. The festival presenters instructed Tsunoda to teach a few words of Japanese to his Red Bull colleagues. According to the Japanese branch of
Motorsport.com, Tsunoda did not miss this opportunity and taught
Max Verstappen a number of Japanese words, including "I am slower than Yuki". Verstappen immediately responded:
"His Japanese lesson is terrible! You said something like: Yuki is faster than us?" The best participant in the Japanese lesson was
Liam Lawson. The AlphaTauri driver was competing in the Japanese Super Formula class this year and showed that he had already taught himself some Japanese in that short time.
Tsunoda: 'I will try my best to get on the podium'
Tsunoda also expressed his ambitions about his home race during the event. Last year, the Japanese finished outside the points, but for this year, he set himself an opportunistic goal:"The AlphaTauri developed into a good car in Singapore, so I am very much looking forward to Suzuka. Last year I didn't get any points, but this year I am aiming for points and of course I will do my best to get on the podium, so I appreciate your support."
