F1 teams with virtually no new engine parts and updates in Las Vegas

Ahead of the Las Vegas Grand Prix, the FIA has received few changes in engine parts or other mandatory updates from the F1 teams. These are the parts used and updates per team as they enter the Las Vegas GP weekend.

Will F1 equipment last until the end of 2023?

With only two races to go, teams are hoping to last with this year's used parts. Virtually every driver is near or just above the maximum number of each engine part. If the parts survive in Las Vegas, they only need to be used in Abu Dhabi.

We therefore see little change in engine parts prior to the Las Vegas GP. Only Ferrari will bring a new exhaust system for both drivers this weekend. This puts Carlos Sainz and Charles Leclerc on seven units, below the limit of eight. However, it is conceivable that the teams are squeezing the last bit of life out of some parts in the last few races, so intervention may still be needed in Abu Dhabi. No grid penalties are required for Las Vegas, so far.

Minor updates at McLaren, Alpine and Aston Martin

In terms of updates, things are also no longer running fast at this stage of the season. Minimal changes have been made by three teams for this weekend. Minimal changes are nevertheless worth mentioning. For instance, the FIA states that Alpine, McLaren and Aston Martin will appear with some modified wings. It means that there are not major upgrades, but that these teams are bringing circuit-specific updates.

At Alpine, it involves a different Beam Wing, front wing and a modification on the right side of the rear wing. At McLaren to a different Beam Wing and rear wing. These modifications were done to affect the car's 'drag'. At Aston Martin, the front wing has been modified for better balance and the 'bonnet' to make cooling more efficient.
