McLaren driver Stoffel Vandoorne is determined to stick with the side following "tough time".
Vandoorne reveals that his frustration is only giving him stronger motivation to get through this "tough time" with the Woking-based side.
Lando Norris, McLaren's junior driver is looking increasingly likely to get a seat with the team next season following his constant progress and with Carlos Sainz Jr. already being announced as Fernando Alonso's replacement, the future's looking ever so bleak for the Belgian driver.
Reports are suggesting that McLaren are currently assessing whether they think Norris is ready to step in and take Vandoorne's place.
Vandoorne insists that his focus is still solely based on improving following his dismal start to the campaign.
"I'd like to work out with McLaren because obviously we're going through a tough time and the reward would be so much nicer if we can get into a winning position together again," Vandoorne said to Crash.net.
"When you go through struggles and manage to get back on top, it's much more rewarding, but we'll see.
"In this current situation, we have and all the problems we've been running through, I think Fernando (Alonso) is probably the most used to driving in complicated situations, let's say, so I've had a very good benchmark.
"I think if the conditions are better, and now everything runs a bit more smooth there is a lot more potential to be much closer with each other."
So it looks like Vandoorne is determined to fight for his place at McLaren! Who do you think the team should opt with - do they stick with Vandoorne? Or do they twist with Norris?
