Red Bull driver
Daniel Ricciardo doubts that the Italian Grand Prix will be the final time that he is given penalties in this 2018 season.
Ricciardo says that he expects to be hit by more grid penalties before the end of the season, despite taking a new engine for the weekend's Grand Prix.
The Aussie has already gone over how much he is permitted this season, due to multiple reliability issues earlier in the season and he will drop down the grid at Monza on Sunday, so he can take Renault's new 'spec C' engine.
"It's likely I'll have another one (penalty) at some point," Ricciardo confessed to Crash.net. "If we could get from Singapore through without any penalties, I think that would be above target for now. So it's likely I'll have another one at some point."
Ricciardo supports Red Bull's decision to take the grid penalty now, rather than in Singapore, with the energy drink brand believing they can win in Asia.
"It was a team choice but I didn't disagree with it," Ricciardo revealed. "I would love to start towards the front one year in Monza because in the end on race day we always have a pretty good race car. It would be nice but looking at Singapore, that's a place you can't risk having a penalty with the package we had."
