After the second free practice, Max Verstappen was already less than hopeful about his chances for the Grand Prix of Bahrain. In a livestream by Team Redline, which took place later on Friday, the Red Bull Racing champion was asked about how his day was. However, Verstappen was not very keen to talk about it.
After the question, the Dutchman had to think for a moment. Eventually, he came up with a short answer: 'Well, can we maybe skip that.' Later in the livestream, there was still a discussion about how Verstappen's day went. One of the attendees in the stream stated that the four-time world champion is very good at killing the conversation. Verstappen jokingly explained that it was more than that, and that he just didn't want to talk about it.
During the livestream, Verstappen did mention that he had another moment on Friday that he looks back on with good feelingsA pasta with chicken, which was 'delicious', had been the highlight of his day.
Earlier on Friday, after FP2, Verstappen was also not so positive. The Dutchman then stated that the car was generally just too slow. Even Christian Horner is not very optimistic. The team principal of Red Bull Racing expects it to be impossible to repeat what Verstappen did in Japan.
