It was a nightmare Saturday for
Sebastian Vettel as he qualified in last for his home
German Grand Prix but the
Ferrari driver has vowed to fight back during the race.
Vettel suffered a Q1 exit at the
Hockenheimring as he failed to set a time because of a intercooler problem whilst his teammate
Charles Leclerc suffered a similar fate, qualifying tenth because of his own technical problems. This is the latest turn in a series of bad luck for Vettel who crashed into the back of
Max Verstappen at Silverstone and finished 16th.
Despite the major setback, Vettel insisted he'll do his best to fight back at his home race.
“Of course it is bitterly disappointing, especially that this should happen here at my home race, in front of such a large crowd of fans. It could not have happened at a worse time," Vettel said as quoted by
Grand Prix 247.
“But I am still looking forward to the race and I will try my best to make up as many places as possible, in the hope of at least bringing home some points."
