It was a tough weekend for
Ferrari as
Sebastian Vettel and
Charles Leclerc finished fourth and fifth respectively but the German driver is confident the team can move forward from their disappointing start.
Both
Ferrari’s were beaten by
Max Verstappen and the two
Mercedes to podium finishes with only team orders saving Vettel from his new teammate Leclerc overtaking him. His lack of speed is of concern to Ferrari but the four-time World Champion is still confident the Scuderia can find something within the SF90 to get them to where they should be.
“I think we have all the tools, all the ingredients that we need,” said Vettel in an interview on Motorsport Week.
“We have a good car, we know it.
"This weekend we didn’t, overall we’re not competitive enough, but we will be back.”
Last year the team weren’t happy with the car’s performance but this time around Vettel insists it is the opposite.
“Last year we left winter testing with problems on the car,” he added.
“It wasn’t behaving the way we wanted it, the way it should.
“This year was the opposite, the car was behaving the way we expected and it felt very good.”
