The Dutch Grand Prix at Zandvoort will be held with home driver Max Verstappen in pole position. During qualifying, the reigning world champion drove his RB19 towards the fastest time. There were two red flags during Q3 in qualifying, leading to Verstappen going back into the pit box twice. What is Verstappen thinking about at such a time?

"It's still good to see where you can improve, and you're just thinking about that, and then once you drive out, you look at how much the track has dried, and how much more you are able to push in some places, compared to the previous laps, that's what you do," Verstappen said after the eventful qualifying session.

Norris, Russell and Albon behind Verstappen

Behind Verstappen on pole are drivers Lando Norris on P2, George Russell on P3 and Alexander Albon on P4. The two-time world champion is not shocked by the three Englishmen starting behind him, saying he is mainly concerned with his own strategy.

"Yes, you mainly focus on your own strategy because that's what you have control over. So that's what we are going to do. I know that they start very well but I think mainly you just think about your own strategy and then, of course, you go through the scenarios that, in case you get passed or whatever," Verstappen said ahead of Sunday's race.
