For the second time this season,
Sergio Perez managed to win a Grand Prix, beating his teammate
Max Verstappen. Both
Red Bull Racing drivers were again unbeatable: they finished more than 20 seconds ahead of
Charles Leclerc's
Ferrari, which claimed the final podium spot. Perez was awarded 'Driver of the Day' by TV viewers worldwide for his fine performance. Who did
GPblog readers think was the best in the
Azerbaijan Grand Prix?
There was not much action or spectacular overtaking on the streets of Baku. Charles Leclerc let slip in the cooldown room afterwards that it was "the loneliest race ever". The Monegasque only saw Fernando Alonso get seriously closer in the final laps, but third place was never in danger for the Ferrari driver.
Who was the best?
The four teams currently battling it out in
Formula 1 - Red Bull, Ferrari, Aston Martin and Mercedes - each had their two drivers in the 10. So for the midfield and rearguard teams, there were two spots with points to share. With only two dropouts, it was a handsome performance by
Yuki Tsunoda, who managed to grab one point with a limited AlphaTauri.
