Toto Wolff believes that the tightness and competitiveness of this season so far is a "marvellous advertisement" for the sport.
Mercedes boss Toto Wolff will hope his team are able to defend their constructors' championship title in this close season, as they battle it out with Ferrari.
Wolff believes that how close the two front runners have been this season is a "marvellous advertisement" for Formula One.
In the first eleven races of the season, Mercedes have been victors five times, with the Italians four times winners.
Mercedes are currently ten points clear of Ferrari, which really isn't too much because of how long we've got left of this 2018 season.
Wolff also mentioned the competitiveness of the midfield battle this year that includes the likes of Renault, Haas, Force India and McLaren - who are all fighting for fourth place in the constructors' championship.
"The battle at the top is more exciting that ever before," Wolff told F1Today.net.
"And things are also very tight in the midfield.
"The races have not only produced some great wheel-to-wheel action on the track but also some surprise winners: seven of the twelve races so far were not necessarily won by the fastest car. All in all, I would say that the 2018 season has been a marvellous advertisement for the sport."
