With the departure of Adrian Newey, Red Bull Racing loses not only a figurehead, but also the man who, as the driving force behind the F1 team, made the Austrian squad a currently invincible machine. Perhaps with the departure of the Briton there will be a decline in performance, especially if more people leave the team in the coming period.
Christian Horner indicated in Miami on Friday that he did not expect a walkout at Red Bull to follow, as key people within the team have long-term rolling contracts. Zak Brown, McLaren's CEO, certainly does not rule out more and more Red Bull staff leaving the factory door in Milton Keynes. Indeed, Brown reveals, "Yes, we've seen an increase in CVs coming in our way from the team."
Moreover, the American believes that Red Bull is definitely going to miss Newey's input. "I think Adrian is the most successful designer of all time. So in addition to the technical that he brings to the racing team, people want to work for people like Adrian Newey and work alongside him. So I think they'll [Red Bull] be missing what he brings to the team from a pure technical point of view. And then I think the leadership and the excitement people get from working with him will be missed."
Newey's future is still uncertain. Whilst the Briton has indicated he wants to take some time off, teams such as Ferrari are interested in Newey's services. Williams has also already held talks with Newey about a return to the British team. McLaren is not linked to Newey as yet.
Yes, lots of RB janitorial staff and receptionists looking for jobs at MCL. Newey is JUST retiring, he’s 65 and tired. Stop the drama! Nothing has changed, RB will continue to dominate until at the least the ‘26 season, MV will win another WDC after this one and RB will likely get the Cup with Horner at the helm. Sorry to all the RB detractors, you’ll have to continue to endure this season AND next season. Let it go!
Yep at the very least ,and if that Ford Mustang battery and electrics work well in 2026 then another 5 years of pain to come on top
OMG.. can you imagine if RB pulled off another dominant car? Not that I’m cheering for them, just the sheer joy of watching all the haters here having to suffer. Lmao
Brown still needs those Mercedes engines at the "half-off, if you attack Horner on a regular basis" deal. He's also a loudmouth, of the sort that believes they're smarter and better than others.
Hah.. not a bad theory.. lol, you think Brown is happy that he’s a Merc customer til 2030??? Ugh
Does anybody know why Brown dislikes Horner so much ? Any reason other than getting beat by Red Bull ? It seems he never misses an opportunity to take a shot at him. As far as resumes coming his way that begs the question can you afford them Zak ? After all you had to sell and become tenants in your own headquarters to make ends meet.
I guess there's no permanent friends, nor is there permanent enemies. There's only interests.
He is playing for the interest of his team. It's doesn't matter at what level.
Yeah. You hired Sanchez only let go after 3 months. Great hiring skills
Would be interesting to know what kind of CVs you receive from RB staff Mr Brown. I wonder why he doesn't go more into detail... I could be everything from cleaning personnel, to engineers. Usually Brown is more chatty in such kind of things. Employees come and go in every team.
Last seen leaving McDonalds with a full tray and heading east to Burger King.for the specials.,.
Zack so full of him self with it all .so he had new staff meber then he quit right away .
And the paper crown, do not forget that key item from Burger King.
