Red Bull Racing, Mercedes, Alpine, Alfa Romeo and Williams can breathe a sigh of relief: there will be no penalty after several team members did not wear the prescribed eye protection during the pit stops. The stewards reviewed footage of the stops and concluded that there did indeed appear to be a violation: the visors of their helmets were not fully closed. On the other hand, it was not clear whether the mechanics were wearing goggles at the time, which meant they were protected.
In any case, the stewards point out that the safety of team members is very important. Therefore, they want to convey to the teams that there should be more emphatic attention to the proper wearing of the protective equipment. There will be no penalty.
