Carlos Sainz is still struggling in his Ferrari. The Spaniard switched from McLaren this season and has to work hard to keep up with teammate Charles Leclerc. Sainz however is confident that the performance will come soon.

This season it is once again noticeable that it is not easy to change teams. Daniel Ricciardo and Sergio Pérez are also struggling to match the performance of their teammate. Sainz himself also sees that he is struggling to keep up with Leclerc but is sure that performance will come in the long run.

Sainz has been impressed by his teammate's performance. "I know he is a qualifying expert," the driver told Motorsport-total.com. "And especially in the Ferrari he seems very comfortable and knows exactly what to expect from the car when it comes to Q2 and Q3. He's an expert at that. At the same time, I have seen in the first two races that I am not slower than him in any corner. So I know that if I do my laps perfectly, I can be better."

Sainz wants to improve details

The Spaniard feels that above all it is about improving the details. "I was surprised a few times in the chicanes because I grabbed the kerb at a different angle and that got me out of position. There are very long straights after the kerbs and that meant I missed two tenths on the straight." For now, Sainz is sixth in the World Cup rankings with 14 points.
