Happy Birthday Lewis Hamilton: 38, but not yet considering F1 exit

Lewis Hamilton celebrates his 38th birthday today. The Mercedes driver has plenty of time to celebrate, as it is still a while before work for the upcoming Formula 1 season begins.

Hamilton is not getting any younger, but recently declared he has no plans to say goodbye to F1 just yet. Despite this, there is no news yet on a possible extension of his contract, which expires at the end of this year. The Briton has not yet abandoned his dream of an eighth-world title and hopes to have a shot at it in 2023.

To do so, Mercedes will have to take a big step forward, as in 2022 the German racing team completely missed the mark with the 'zero sidepod' concept of the W13. The team was surprised time and again by problems that occurred at the most unexpected times, but was most plagued by porpoising. In 2023, Mercedes hopes that floor changes enforced by the FIA will help the team.
