Is Verstappen leaving Red Bull Racing? ''He's gonna be looking around''

Max Verstappen was hoping to fight for the world title this season, but that doesn't seem to be the case at the moment. According to Martin Brundle that might cause the Dutchman to look for another team.

Does Red Bull Racing disappoint?

Prior to the 2020 Formula 1 season, Red Bull Racing blew high from the sky. It had to happen this year. Verstappen had to become the youngest world champion, but now that the season has started, Mercedes once again turns out to be too strong for the Austrian team. This could have major consequences, according to Sky Sports reporter Brundle.

''Normally Red Bull does come with a car that has everything in it in the end, but it has to coincide for a while. That seems to be the case again. If they can get the potential out of this car they can participate, but the question is whether they can take control of the car'', says the former Formula 1 driver to Motorsport.com.

Getting to Mercedes?

With thirty points behind in the championship, Verstappen is heading for the fourth race, but according to Brundle he will be irritated. ''I think he is very frustrated. Before the season they said a DNF was not an option and in race one you drop out. That's not what you want,'' says Brundle, who thinks Verstappen might look further.

''I think the frustration about the onboard radio will also increase. He'll be looking to see where he can win a championship. As long as Mercedes keeps winning, he'll find a way to get into that team," concludes Brundle.

I can understand people's sentiment towards Max. He is a good driver with a lot of potentials. However he hasn't won anything yet. Ocon beat him to the F3 title in 2014. He has neither GP3 nor F2 title which the likes of Russel and Ocon has. Under intense pressure Max is known to crack. Remember when he was supposed to be the youngest pole sitter in history and one Daniel beat him in Mexico? Remember how he was supposed to win a Monaco race and One Daniel beat him to it?You all don't know how Max will respond to a very competitive teammate because he hasn't had one yet, aside from Daniel who left RB because the team was focusing their energy on Max. While he was a tad faster than Daniel, Dan was beating him in pressure moments. So until we see Max slug it out with a teammate who is capable of beating him on a good day, for a whole season, it's all 'ifs'

F1 Rythm.. "touche' my friend.. Haven't seen him turn water into wine...Yet he's been hyped by this blog as the next best thing since sliced white bread..folks you have to admit...he's NOT all that..!!! Blame it on the equipment..or perhaps the stars are not aligned properly... Choose what you will...the facts don't lie..an amazing driver stuck in a hyped up F1 hypocrisy..don't blame the driver..blame the designer...Adrian are YOU listening...the team principal's are NOT without sin either..you're only as good as the chassis/PU you're given..end of story...that's today's F1.

I fully agree with what you are saying Ronrock1952 ! Just hope the stars will aligned properly.

Max is the future in F1

Ronrock1952 30 July 2020 at 12:30+ 5391

kzik...there are other up and coming young talent already participating...sooooo they don't deserve to be amongst F1's future ?? No one man is the future of anything sport's related...if Lewis left tomorrow F1 would go on without him.

Kzik Yes, for now, until new drivers turn up. Much like before Galelio's time. The world was flat (because no one was allowed to say it was round, otherwise they cut off your head) Now the world is spherical, you don't have to be afraid to say it. .in a few years, it will be the same with Max. What you cannot argue with. Six world championships (soon to be seven)

You will definitely have to wait for Hamilton to leave the team or retire before that is ever going to happen because you are the last person that Hamilton will want as his team mate. He is very comfortable with Bottas there at present and doesn’t give him much of a challenge. He has seen what happens when a young gun like LeClerc joins a multiple world champion as a team mate and then the ‘aura’ surrounding the world champion gets stripped away. Hamilton certainly do not want that possibility to happen so he will definitely be having strong words with Toto to make sure that doesn’t happen. That’s also likely the reason why Russell is not in Bottas seat next year!

Snake Wolff isn't stupid. When a car is so dominant like Mercedes is, any driver can win. The only contender of LH has been his team mate (no one of them a top driver), who could also win the drivers title, if LH wasn't on a Mercedes. LH is the (expensive) past, Max is the future. If I were Toto, no doubts to hire Max and let Lewis to go (may be Ferrari or retire).

Well said! Or hammy can go Rapping and Bottas can play the drums, they make a good team.

Ronrock1952 30 July 2020 at 11:51+ 5391

mp599..Toto is not stupid.. Nor is the company..they have a winning formula..that's what matters most. WCC is their goal..any other championship that may come about by one of their driver's is gravey. Lewis will retire with Mercedes...not Ferrari...my guess is after he achieves an 8th WDC if that comes about... I'm afraid Max is stuck right where he's at..empty promises and all...

mp599 30 July 2020 at 12:03+ 11881

LH is far too expensive, Mercedes can win with any driver, now. If (Mercedes) plans to stay F1 beyond 2021 (new rules, new car) the game field will be different. They need a top driver "for the future", who can't be LH.

mp599 01 August 2020 at 14:23+ 11881

Better use your divinatory predictions for yourself. As it's likely Mercedes wins actual championship and next, what happens beyond is impossible to predict. When a new car concept is introduced, things mix up and driving ability could weight more for one or two years. Toto/mercedes isn't stupid and competitive edge require team to engage the best driver, who's not grandpa' Hamilton (time passes), but Verstappen. At the very least, so that it's not the others who have him (Max). (there will be only a team who will engage Hamilton, but I doubt Luis risks to compare with Leclerc on the same car)

Honululursa 01 August 2020 at 07:18+ 3412

Sorry mp599 Lewis is staying till 2024 at least. 10 world championships, that is what he is aiming for. To put the record beyond the reach of Max.

Honululursa 01 August 2020 at 07:08+ 3412

Not true. First team mate of Lewis, double world champion, Fernando. Lewis beat him as a rookie.

Pasi Metsola 30 July 2020 at 12:10+ 45

Max is not better than Sainz! So he is not better than Norris... Why you think he is better than Bottas?

Jan Gerrit Klok 30 July 2020 at 13:12+ 57

You missed the part where he consistently left Sainz a pitstop behind in races? Gained many places in the rain? Made Riccardo who beat Vettel look slow?

Honululursa 01 August 2020 at 07:16+ 3412

Jan You forget they were team mates at Toro Rosso? The record is there for all to see.

Honululursa 01 August 2020 at 07:09+ 3412

Sorry to disappoint you. Lewis beat Fernando, a two time world champion as a rookie.
