Max Verstappen disagrees with people's criticisms of his driving. Despite his driving style and experience being widely criticised, Verstappen told the BBC that he does not care about what people have to say.
Verstappen has mentioned multiple times that he races to win. In the past few races, such as Austin and Mexico, he has done exactly that. During the Austin GP, his hard racing left Lando Norris with a penalty. In Mexico, he was the one to receive the penalty. While there was criticism about the penalties he received, there was just as much (if not more) criticism about his driving techniques.
When asked about the criticism he has been facing, Verstappen simply said: "Honestly, even if that was the case, first of all, it wouldn't have mattered to me because I drive according to what I think is possible and what is allowed according to the rules. And if the rules are like that, then I will use them like that. If that had happened the other way around, I don't think I would have been the person to complain so loudly. I would just think, 'OK, if those are the rules, we'll do it that way', rather than shouting that we need to change the rules."
Would Verstappen ever allow someone to overtake him on the outside? It's not likely. The Red Bull driver said "personally, I don't race that way. When I race someone, he will not be allowed to overtake me on the outside. That's how I grew up racing. Some drivers are a bit more passionate in racing; that's just how they are. And I know that in Formula 1, I can't go on the outside because they will push me off the track. That's a racing instinct."

Max is going to be crowned soon and 44-6xLegend is manifesting here...
This is how racers talk. Just like Leclerc as well. No wonder the best battles are between those two. No moaning, just racing.
The people who cry out for rule changes are the ones cannot win according to the current rules.
It was not that longago that lewis was demanding the fia change the rules when max was winning everything
He demanded, did he? :) It was a few races into 2014 when Horner demanded the FIA change the rules because he didn't think Mercs domination was good for F1. LOL, fkg hilarious! :) Meanwhile, 6 more legit titles later....
And as soon as Max can't win with the current rules or gets tired of too many races or sprints, he'll be the one crying out. Still a nice claim while Max is till the one winning. You'll see a change of tune when he isn't. The current rules are fine, they're not just being enforced properly. When they are Max is the one to cry because he's on the receiving end.
"Verstappen lashes out: 'I would never cry out for rules change'" He would if they worked against him. He cried about his profanity penalty. And he even wanted less races in the calendar and less sprints because it didn't suit him. Right now the rules work for him and he gets away with breaking them. He is the last person on the grid to want that to change. The moment things don't work out for him, we hear rumblings of him maybe quitting before his contract. This is a guy who said if he had any more seasons like 2021 (you know, where he actually had to fight), he'd quit.
Are you having your period again? Man,i never saw so much negativity from 1 person.
Hey Berg. Nice of you to drop in for your once in a season post. And once again, I am honoured to be the recipient of your once in a season post. Very humbling, thank you. When it comes to people like you Berg, I have perpetual PMS :) Which is quite apt considering where the weeping comes from. Negativity? Well I guess that depends on what side of the fence you sit on. I don't find it negative on my side. Perhaps you should pop over onto this side. :) See I have to respond to multiples. But the multiples only have to respond to me. So I end up having to post more, you see. I'm sure you can figure out how that system works without me having to draw you a picture. But hey, if you wanna see more, stick around. Don't be a stranger. I'm sure you'll be here for the crowning of the glory of the Dutch maestro who must be revered and worshipped as he is given another asterisk title after 2.5 years in an illegal car. And all this time we thought it was his talent doing it. Turns out it was the return of Newey's brake box of tricks that he illegally used in 1998 on the McLaren that also dominated that season. Well, well. tut tut. :) See you again soon. Don't be a stranger.
Thx for the reply. I'm gonna rewatch the sao paulo grand prix again to feel positive again. Maybe you should to because it was 1 of the best races ever (from my side of the fence) and a win by Max Verstappen without an illigal car,(rumours are not facts) tut tut.
Hehe, oh yes, don't worry it's well known that Max fans do like rule breaking and cheating if it means they can win. True F1 fans to the core :) It's easy to know when you've already gotten the better of a troll. They totally fail to acknowledge your post and just wait for their turn. I'll admit, it would have been better if your post didn't come across like you were high or drunk. Rambling on about whales and this fictional Jonas person (that wasn't real btw). What on Earth are you going on about now? Do you think Google Translate can help you maybe? "because i never saw that." I'm sure there are many things you haven't seen. Such as my previous post. haha. It's what happens when you go through life with your eyes closed. You learn nothing and spend your life as a troll with nothing interesting to say to anyone.
It's the little pleasures indeed. I have that whith abu dhabi 21,i never thought Hamilton would leave room to build a flat in turn 5. Do you mean ,the survive for 3 days and nights in a whale, because jonas said so kind of evidence or evidence from reliable sources because i never saw that.
Oh no Berg, did I bring you down that much that you needed a pick-me-up? Oh i do apologise. And you were so nice to me in your previous post too. A little secret, when I'm feeling... y'know... in the mood (wink wink), I watch Silverstone 2021. Ssshhh don't tell anyone. Now don't be jumping to conclusion just because Max piled it into a barrier. Lewis' win there was epic and doubly so, the much deserved celebrations. Imagine my further joy to see him win again and beat Max again in Silverstone 2024. It's the little pleasures in life, am I right? Well you don't know if the car was legal or not. I mean it is a Red Bull after all. But let's pretend this one was, at least Max can now share having a good wet race with some of the barnstormers that Lewis has had. So that's nice eh? The lottery of the wet, a lot of luck a safety car, bad decisions from 2 rivals and beating 2 Alpines. I can see why you're so proud. :) Oh and just a little correction... Facts can't be rumours, but rumours can be facts. Not every rumour is not factual. Just needed to educate you a little there as you seemed to imply that rumours can not be facts, which is incorrect. Also it's more than a rumour. There is evidence to support the claim. But you won't be interested in that will ya? It doesn't support your narrative and thus must be summarily dismissed. Don't worry, I know how it works on your side of the fence. :)
Fighter mentality. Oh, and (almost) 4 times WDC.
The gloating party doesn't officially start until he's gifted another title after illegal goings on. As for fighter mentality. Well it's hardly that, but I understand you have to, as an Max fan, pull your weight and do some marketing for him. This is a guy who said if he had any more seasons like 2021 (you know, where he actually had to fight), he'd quit. Luckily for him, Newey put inertial braking on the 2022 car and he's not had to fight again since Miami 2024 where he lost 10 in a row. Vettel is a 4 time champ with Red Bull btw and he got his legally. So he is the best and most successful RB driver ever, still. We will have to wait at least 5 years for Max to beat that. He'll need 5 clean titles. Maybe his first one can be next season.
Max always had a fighter mentality and born racer and soon be 4 time wdc the best driver in f1
You sound like you know Max better than Jos. Jos had to work to make Max have the mentality he has now. It was a lot of hard work and fatherly abuse to produce what we have today. A fast driver with a bad attitude to people. Who'd have thought. No-one is born a racer, you have to work at it. Again, Max being badly parented for losing really helped that motivation and likely seeded his bullying approach because he had to do whatever it took to win no matter if he has to bully, crash or break rules. As long as he didn't have to get punished for not winning later. But you know this about Jos and Max right? I mean of course you do. The best driver in F1 is questionable. Until they're all in the same cars, we'll never know. He's had the best car by a mile for 2.5 years. When he didn't he lost 10 races in a row and was beaten by 6 other drivers in those 10 races. So... I would question your 'best' claim. Enjoy his 4th controversial title in a row.
