FP1 Results in Austria | Verstappen again superior in the lead, Perez fifth

During the first free practice session in Austria, Max Verstappen once again drove his car to first place on the timesheet. Starting the session on hard tyres, the Dutchman was soon among the fastest. Dominant the Dutchman was not, as colleagues Carlos Sainz and Charles Leclerc were very close.

Lewis Hamilton also showed his best side. The Briton recorded fast times on the hard tyres. The Mercedes driver eventually ended up in fourth place. Sergio Perez, who until Friday was uncertain whether he would drive this weekend, finished in fifth place, again behind Verstappen.

Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz were not very good in the first part of the first free practice session. With ten minutes on the clock, the drivers were still in 17th and 18th place. In the end, the Ferraris still managed to get into the top three. Leclerc finished third and Sainz came second.
